What this building needed
Zone II means the seismic system is an over-specification
Telangana sits at the bottom of the IS 1893 scale. Outside specific tall-tower cases the seismic demand does not size the joint here, and a Class III seismic system specified by reflex is money that would do more work in the waterproofing detail and the fixing schedule.
So the governing requirement is cleanability
With the movement case straightforward, what decides the specification is that the floor is wet-mopped daily and crossed constantly by beds and trolleys. Flush, sealed, no recess the mop cannot reach, and rated for a wheeled point load rather than a distributed one.
Released in phases across two years
December 2024, then March, July and August 2026. Hospital construction hands over wing by wing, and the joint has to still be available and identical when the last wing is ready.
