MicrAtec — control joints for tiled and stone floors
Not expansion joints. A control joint is a deliberate weak line inside a single floor field, where a tile or stone bed is allowed to crack tidily instead of tenting; MicrAtec makes that line a 3 to 20 mm metal-edged strip with an elastomer core that takes a millimetre or two of movement. Stainless steel, brass or aluminium edges; neoprene, EPDM or VAMAC cores.
Supplied to order. MicrAtec control joints are manufactured by the Vexcolt group outside India and brought in against a confirmed order — not held in the New Delhi range. Confirm availability with us before it goes into a programme or a BOQ; the systems made in India are the default where they fit.

Control joints, not expansion joints: the sightline is the joint. Fire barrier, waterproofing and factory pre-assembly are all 'not applicable' on every MicrAtec sheet. For the Ti-Lock ranges the first movement figure applies to the 8–10 mm widths and the second to the 14–16 mm widths, as the sheets group them. Where a sheet gives an asymmetric figure (+0.5/−1.5) it is quoted as printed.
Where a control joint belongs, and which one
A control joint does not replace a movement joint; it divides the floor field between movement joints so that the finish cracks where you chose rather than where it likes. Why tiled and stone floors tent covers when one is needed. The choice inside the range is width, metal and bedding: the SE and SV are the fine 3–7 mm stainless or brass lines for polished stone; the TA and TB are aluminium at 10–20 mm for adhesive-bed and bedded paving respectively; the Ti-Lock family is the mid-width workhorse at 8–16 mm with a choice of side-plate metal and thickness, in anchor profiles for thin (NA/NP, VA/VP), bedded (NL/ND, VL/VD) and screw-fixed (NS, VS) installation.
The V-prefixed cores are VAMAC, which the sheets record as tested and approved to London Underground 1-085 for below-ground use such as metro stations; the N-prefixed cores are neoprene. Core colour is black, grey or stone (beige) on every range.
