SeismAtec 400, 410, 420, 430 and 440

The rest of the seismic line. All five share the central-pan architecture of the SeismAtec 450 we make in New Delhi and the same seismic rating, ±50% of the gap. What changes between them is the thermal capacity, the bottom of the gap band, a pan that lifts during an event, and a coloured seal.

Supplied to order. The 400, 410, 420, 430 and 440 are manufactured by the Vexcolt group outside India and brought in against a confirmed order — not held in the New Delhi range. Confirm availability with us before it goes into a programme or a BOQ; the systems made in India are the default where they fit.

Shared on every sheet: seismic expansion joint, central-pan system; floor to floor · floor to wall; heights 50, 60 mm; Class I (thermal), Class II (wind), Class III (seismic); fire barrier 120–240 minutes; waterproofing membrane. Traffic: pedestrian >25,000/day · trolley and light-wheeled ≤1,000/day · wheeled ≤100/day. 50 mm deep systems suit paving up to 10 mm deep in the central pan; 60 mm deep systems suit paving up to 20 mm.

Reading the differences

Which one a separation actually calls for

Start from the seismic separation the structural engineer has calculated: it sets the gap, and every model here is rated for ±50% of it. Then the thermal column decides. A long exposed run in the north wants the ±50 mm of the 410 or 420; a short internal run is fine at ±12.5 or ±25. The 400 and 410 add a pan that lifts and winged side frames that rotate during an event, which the sheets describe as keeping egress safe for people with mobility difficulties. The 430 and 440 add a coloured seal where the finish schedule wants the joint to read as a line rather than a plate.

The 450 covers gaps from 50 to 500 mm at ±25 mm thermal and is the model we manufacture and hold in New Delhi; where its thermal figure is enough, it is the default, and what the seismic zone changes explains when the separation rather than the thermal figure is doing the sizing.
