What this building needed

A 100 mm gap covered three ways

MegAtec 300 on the floors, 360 where the joint turns up a wall, 610 for the wider and heavier-duty runs. A station concourse joint does not stop at the skirting — the wall and ceiling continuations are the locations most often missed at tender and most often improvised at fit-out.

Kerala's exposure is sustained wetting, not occasional rain

High humidity and a long heavy monsoon mean the waterproofing membrane and its termination do more work than the metal above them. A joint that is watertight on paper and terminated badly on site leaks in the first season.

Public transport interchange, so the surface is the specification

Continuous footfall with luggage and trolley wheels crossing the line all day. Flush and trafficable is not a finish preference here, it is the functional requirement.
